The project aimed to improve the stability of the local electricity network in Lowestoft, UK, while enhancing grid resilience and meeting specific client requirements. It also needed to address excess heat generated during operation.
A custom containerized power module was developed using a Jenbacher J620 (6th series) engine with a capacity of 3 MW. The unit runs on natural gas, and excess heat is dissipated using rooftop dry coolers. The design ensures compactness, mobility, and ease of operation.
We designed and delivered a fully tailored power module with separate machine and control rooms. The container includes a chequer plate floor functioning as an oil containment sump and acoustic insulation for noise reduction. The system is built for safe, reliable, and easy maintenance.
